Cuba pounded out 16 hits against Taiwan on Saturday at the World Port Tournament in Rotterdam en route to a 9-1 win. It was their third in three days. Yoelvis Fiss and Ariel Borroto homered and combined for four RBI. Rolando Merino drove in two. Freddy Asiel Alvarez pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk for the win. Chu-Chien Hsu took the loss, giving up eight hits, six runs (2 ER) and a bb in four innings.

Syogo Suenaga held the Dutch national team to three hits and a walk in nine scoreless innings to lead Japan to a 6-0 shutout on Saturday evening. It was their first victory in the World Port Tournament this year. Suenaga struck out six. Yohei Yamamoto went four-for-five with a triple and two runs scored. Ken Hinomoto and Yuta Siozawa added two-run singles. Raily Legito had two of the three hits for the Netherlands. Nick Stuifbergen began for the home team and issued six hits, three runs and a bb in six innings for the loss.
