Cuba has reached the championship game at the 2013 World Port Tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands. On Saturday afternoon they shut out Curacao 11-0 in eight innings to improve to 4-2 in the tournament. They will now either face the Netherlands or Chinese Taipei on Sunday in the final.
Ismel Jimenez allowed just two hits in seven scoreless innings to lead the way on Saturday. He struck out eight to pick up the win. Duniel Ibarra closed it out in the eighth. At the plate Andy Ibanez collected three hits, two runs and three RBI. Guillermo Heredia and Barbaro Arruebarruena scored three runs apiece.
Ruderly Manuel took the loss for Curacao, issuing five hits, four runs and two walks in 2 1/3 innings. Shurendell Mujica and Amir Daou had the lone hits. Curacao finishes the tournament with one win in six games.
