The 2019 World Port Tournament is starting on Friday at Family Stadium in Rotterdam, home of Curacao Neptunus. Host Netherlands will face Japan in the opening game on Friday evening at 7pm. Also participating are Curacao, Team USA and Chinese Taipei.
Team USA is a selection of current and former professional players including Polish pitcher Artur Strzalka, former Major Leaguer Josh Colmenter and Belgian outfielder Sam Beulens among others and will be managed by former German National Team manager Greg Frady.
The round robin style first round will be played from Friday to Wednesday. Afterwards the playoffs in a double elimination format will follow. The final is scheduled for Sunday, July 21 at 1.30pm CET.
