The World Port Tournament 2019 in Rotterdam, Netherlands continued on Sunday with two games.
In the afternoon Curacao edged out the Netherlands 3-2. A throwing error by the Dutch catcher helped in the bottom of the eighth to break a 2-2 tie. The Netherlands had erased a 0-2 deficit in the top half of the frame thanks to a two-run single by Gianison Boekhoudt. Curacao led since the sixth inning. Rob Cordemans started for the Netherlands, allowing three hits, a run and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. Kevin Kelly and Tom Stuifbergen followed him on the mound.
In the evening game Chinese Taipei entered the competition with a 3-1 victory over the selection of former Major and Minor League players. Sheng Feng Wu struck out seven in 7 2/3 strong innings, allowing just an unearned run on two hits. Fernando Fernandez got charged with the loss. All four runs in the game were scored in the first three innings. Afterwards pitching dominated.
