The Women’s Softball World Championship in Surrey, Canada is entering its crucial days. The Netherlands beat New Zealand 8-2 on Friday and already clinched a spot in the top six. Additionally Canada beat China, Cuba lost to Chinese Taipei, Japan shut out Mexico, USA did the same with Venezuela and Italy lost 0-1 to Australia. In the placement round it was also a good day for European Softball. While France lost 2-5 to Guatemala, Greece (4-0 vs Uganda), Switzerland (5-1 vs India), Austria (13-0 vs Ecuador), Serbia (1-0 vs) and Czech Republic (14-3 vs Peru) claimed wins.
