Germany’s Wittmann Tallies Fifth Multi-Hit Game in Weekend Action for West Texas A&M

Posted on March 9, 2022March 9, 2022 by MrBB

Germany’s Paul Wittmann put together his fifth multi-hit game of the season against the University of Texas -Tyler Patriots on Sunday, Mar 6, one of them a double, his fourth of the season, as the West Texas A&M Buffaloes won 6-3 to improve to 16-2 on the season.

Wittmann went 2-for-6 over the three-game weekend series, with four runs scored and three walks.

The 20-year-old outfielder, who came up through the Legionäre Regensburg system, is in his first season with the Buffalos and has impressed early on, with a .366./536/.561 slash line through his first 15 games at the NCAA Division II level. He has hit safely in ten of those games, with six of his 15 hits having gone for extra bases.

He has also exhibited an excellent command of the strike zone, with 15 walks and just eight strike outs.

Wittmann and the Buffaloes will be in action again on the weekend when they travel to Fort Smith, AR, for a four-game series against the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions.  The Lions are 6-10 on the season.
