Paderborn Takes Two From HSV
Game 1 – Daniel HINZ (1-0) pitched six scoreless innings to pick up his first win of the season and Paderbron survived a late rally to claim a 5-3 win against the HSV Stealers. Jerin HARPER had a pair of hits and two RBI’s while Heiko SCHUMACHER went 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Game 2 – Jerin HARPER collected three more hits, including a run and an RBI, and Dave PREZIOSI (3-0) tossed a complete game five-hit shutout with eight strikeouts as the Untouchables earn a 3-0 win.
Cologne Clinches Playoff Berth With Sweep
Game 1 – The Cardinals clinched the final playoff berth in the North Division with a 17-2 win over the winless Hannover Regents. Moritz SCKAER (5-4) allowed two runs on seven hits to get the win and Anderson ECHAVARRIA was 4-for5 with four runs scored and two RBI’s.
Game 2 – Dirk FRIES fanned seven hitters en route to a complete game 9-0 shutout win over Hannover.
Solingen Wins North Division Title
Game 1 – Andre HUGHES tossed four innings of perfect baseball before finishing with eight strikeouts and one hit in six innings as the Alligators secured another North Division title with an easy 19-0 victory over Nuenkirchen. Jens CORNELSEN (3 RBI’s) and Dominik WULF (5 RBI’s) both homered for Solingen.
Game 2 – The Alligators completed the Sweep of the Nightmares with a 12-1 win as Moritz BUTTGEREIT knocked in four RBI’s while Joey BESL and Dominik WULF both scored three runs. Enorbel MARQUEZ-RAMIREZ improved to 6-1 limiting Neunkirchen to one run on three hits over five innings.
Heidenheim Too Much For Tubingen
Game 1 – Hagen RATZ (3-2) fanned 12 hitters and Simon GUHRING went 4-for-4 with two homers and seven RBI’s as Heidenheim whipped Tubingen 14-2. American import Ben HIMES also homered for the Heidekopfe.
Game 2 – Simon GUHRING added three more hits and an RBI and Markus WINKLER silenced the bats of the Hawks as Heidenheim wins again, 5-2.
Regensburg Claims South Division Title
Game 1 -Michael ALMSTETTER outpitched Dominic HARTINGER as the Legionare wraps up the South Division crown with a 7-2 win over the Gauting Indians.
Game 2 – Regensburg scored six times in the final three innings to complete the sweep over Gauting, 7-1. Matthew FLAHERTY picked up the win while Tim NEWMAN took the loss.
Mannheim Eliminates Saarlouis From Playoffs
Game 1 – The Tornados secured a berth in the playoffs and eliminated the Saarlouis Hornets from the title hunt with a tough 3-1 win. Arvin ALCANTARA tossed four strong innings and Martin DEWALD closed the game for Mannheim.
Game 2 – Jan RUSSELL tossed nine innings and William HESS connected for a three-run dinger off Hornets ace Ales KEPRTA to lead the Tornadoes to a narrow 4-3 win over Saarlouis.
