WBUK Set to Become First Women’s Baseball League in Europe

Play begins today in the 10-team Women’s Baseball UK (WBUK) League. The history-making circuit was announced last year when only three clubs existed, but eight more have since been founded. Before the first pitch is even thrown, the league has already proved popular enough that two divisions have been founded. The league will alternate divisions in single locations, with the England Division meeting in five different cities, while the two clubs in the Scotland Division will swap sites each time. Each team will play two games on each Game Day, with a Championship to follow.

The schedule for today is below. It is likely that some coverage will be available via WBUK’s Twitter.
