The Netherlands have won their second game at the 2017 WBSC U18 Baseball World Cup in Thunder Bay, Canada on Tuesday. They shut out Mexico 4-0. Chris Koeiman struck out seven in a nine-inning complete game shutout, allowing just five hits and two walks. Mexico remained winless in the tournament. The second European team in the event, Italy, lost 1-10 against Korea. Leonardo Seminati went 4-for-4 with a solo home run with the remaining hitters of Italy collecting just one more hit and two walks.
Meanwhile the Super Round Robin participants are almost set. On Tuesday evening Canada defeated Australia 8-2 with the team from Down Under reaching the second round still. Canada will go too, when they beat Nicaragua in a make-up game on Wednesday. Chinese Taipei will be out of the Top six when Canada wins. Korea is first in this group. In the other pool USA, Japan and Cuba are advancing. The United States improved to 5-0 with an easy win over Cuba.
