Originally an off day two re-scheduled games were played at Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay, Canada during the WBSC U18 Baseball World Cup on Wednesday. In the afternoon Mexico defeated South Africa 14-1 for their first win of the tournament. In the evening Canada downed Nicaragua 15-3 to reach the Super Round Robin as last and sixth team. A nine-run seventh inning blew the game wide open.
The Super Round Robin starts off on Thursday with matchups between Japan and Australia, Korea and Cuba, as well as USA and Canada. Italy and the Netherlands have to settle for the consolation round with a direct matchup coming up on Saturday. Korea and USA enter the Super Round Robin with two wins apiece.
