WBC Participants take on Major League Teams in Spring Training

Today and on Wednesday the eight World Baseball Classic participants, which are slotted into Pools C and D in San Juan and Phoenix, will play against Major League teams in Spring Training. Spain will face the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Baltimore Orioles (both games at 7pm CET) and Italy is going to face the Oakland Athletics and the Los Angeles Angels (both games at 9pm CET). Also the Dominican Republic, Canada, Team USA, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Mexico will play exhibition games, while Pools A and B of the WBC first round gets concluded in Asia. For a detailed schedule visit MLB.com. At least the Angels-Italy affair on Wednesday will be on MLB.tv. The round robin in Pools C and D will start on Thursday, March 7.
