The German Baseball-Bundesliga club Solingen Alligators announced on Sunday that Wayne Ough is taking over as head coach for the 2017 season. He is succeeding Ron Frazier at that post, who had coached the Alligators through the 2015 season. Ough had come back to Solingen midway through 2016 after their import pitcher Jadd Schmeltzer left on short notice. The Alligators reached the quarter finals as the number-two seed in the north and then lost in five games to the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe. He will stay in Solingen until the end of the month, will return home to Australia before taking over as head coach next spring.
