The Austrian Baseball League champion from 2015, the Vienna Wanderers, have confirmed two players from Japan for the 2016 season. Ryoma Watanabe is coming back for a second season with the Wanderers. Additionally the club signed Chikara Igami. The 19-year-old right-handed pitcher could convince Vienna’s head coach Hiro Sakanashi during the California Winter League, where Sakanashi worked as an assistant coach. The Wanderers start against the Dornbirn Indians into the new season.
