The Vienna Metrostars answered last weekend’s 6-1 win by the Vienna Wanderers with a 4-3 nail-biter on Tuesday evening. All four Metrostars runs were scored in the second. A throwing error by the pitcher opened the rally. Singles by Hubert Weiser and Dominik Loeffler extended the early lead to four runs. The Wanderers were able to cut the deficit to a single run in the following innings, but failed to even the score. Timothy Jones earned the win, allowing eight hits, three runs (2 ER) and four walks in 7 1/3 innings, striking out 15. Jason Kilby took the loss, issuing six hits, four runs and seven base on balls in just four frames.
