Venezuela announced the coaching staff for its team at the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Once again Luis Sojo will lead the staff as manager, joined by hitting coach Andres Galarraga, pitching coach Wilson Alvarez, bench coach Luis Dorante, bullpen coach Marcos Davillo, third base coach Omar Malave and first base coach Carlos Garcia. In 2009 Venezuela finished in third place behind Japan and Korea at the World Baseball Classic, winning six of its eight games. In March next year they are facing Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and one of the qualifying teams in the first round at Hiram Birthorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
