Posted on November 2, 2015November 2, 2015 by philipp

October 31 was the deadline for transfers within the Netherlands. The Vaessen Pioniers are one of the few teams, which already have announced the arrival of foreign players to the team. Americans Chris Pfau and Austin Weymouth are joining the team from Hoofddorp. Pfau is a left-handed pitcher, who has pitched in the independent Frontier League in the past. Weymouth is an infielder with some experience playing in the Netherlands after stints with UVV in 2011 and 2012.

After the departure of Robert Klaver as head coach, who will be replaced by Dè Flanegin, in overall is revamping its team. Besides Pfau and Weymouth, Zerzinho Croes, Mervin Gario (Corendon Kinheim) and Maickel Rietel (HCAW) are joining the team among others. They also would like to add a European passport pitcher until the start of the season. Veteran Dirk van’t Klooster already was known as retiree. Other departures include Danny Rombley, Vince Rooi, Kevin Weijgertse, Bayron Cornelisse, Elton Koeiman and Daniel Fernandes.
