UVV agrees to take 8th Spot in 2011 Dutch Hoofdklasse

Posted on October 14, 2010October 14, 2010 by philipp

Just a few days after the Almere Magpies announced their withdrawal from the Dutch Hoofdklasse, the head class in Netherlands is back at eight teams. UVV, which had won the second division in 2010, but lost in a relegation/promotion series to the Magpies, accepted the invitation of the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB). UVV is playing in the Hoofdklasse for the first time since 1988.

The club from Utrecht already was able to add a strong name to the 2011 roster, as outfielder Danny Rombley (played for reigning champion Neptunus in 2010) has agreed to join the team according the report by Honkbalsite.com. It is not yet clear at the moment if 2010 key players Fausto Alvarez, Glenn Romney, Cameron Wheeler and Derek Tarapacki will come back for another season.
