USA and Cuba face tough tasks on Saturday at World Cup of Baseball in Taipei

Posted on November 16, 2007November 16, 2007 by philipp

Only two of the favourites remain in the hunt for the World title. Olympic games runner up Australia and host Chinese Taipei lost their quarterfinals surprisingly against Japan and the Netherlands. They are now facing Cuba and the USA, who cruised into the semi-finals, thanks to nice pitching efforts by Adiel PALMA and Jeff KARSTENS. The two heavyweights in baseball are on collision course for an interesting final. However, as we saw on Friday, they have to win games on Saturday first. The losers do not go home, as they still have games left at the weekend, determining the standings between fifth and eighth place.

Schedule for Saturday
(all listed times are local)

12:00 Australia – Mexico
12:00 Chinese Taipei – Korea
Semi-finals:
18:00 Cuba – Japan
18:00 USA – Netherlands
