U23 Baseball Euros 2026 Germany Qualifier: Day 4

Posted on August 7, 2026 by Gabriel Fidler

Jonathan Schäffer and Noah Lindt combined on a one-hit shutout, and Tobius Maul homered and triple, driving in four as Germany advanced to the title game of the Under-23 European Baseball Championship B-Pool in Paderborn, Germany. Deutschland Baseball joined Sweden, which had earlier defeated Poland thanks to a relentless offense that included three hits from Tobias Glimmerud and yet two knocks—including yet another extra base hit—from Tournament MVP candidate Jakob Lindkvist. Earlier in the day in a placement game at Ahorn Ballpark, Mykyta Liabakh pitched a complete game for Ukraine, supported by three hits and three runs from leadoff hitter Mykyta Burmistrov.

Belgium and Poland will do battle for third place tomorrow, followed by the title game between Sweden and Germany. The winner will earn promotion to the 2027 Under-23 European Baseball Championship.
