U23 Baseball Euros 2026 Germany Qualifier: Awards, Statistical Leaders

Posted on August 9, 2026August 11, 2026 by Gabriel Fidler

Germany and Sweden each put together complete team performances in the Under-23 European Championship B-Pool in Paderborn, Germany, and the leaderboards feature multiple players from each. The other five teams, though, all had their standouts, which we take a look at today.

Offensive Leaders
Minimum two plate appearances per team game.

  • Kilian Redle (Germany) led the tournament in OPS (1.722) and slugging percentage (1.222), tying for the lead in home runs (2). He tied for third in total bases (11).
  • Jakob Lindkvist (Sweden) was tops in runs (7, tied), RBI (9), total bases (15), home runs (2, tied with Redle), and doubles (2, tied with seven others). He slashed .467/.571/1.000.
  • Yevhenii Dmytriiev (Ukraine) was named Leading Hitter with a .625 average, finishing with a 1.417 OPS and no strikeouts.
  • Two-way player Fred Rasmussen (Denmark) equalled Dmytriiev’s batting mark and had a 1.261 OPS.
  • Elias Huber (Germany) was second in OPS (1.667), hitting .500/.667/1.000. He did not strike out once in 13 plate appearances.
  • Alessandro Carrasquilla (Germany) was named MVP after leading in triples (2) and finishing third in OPS (1.615) and in average (tied), at .545.
  • Bohdan Lucheiko (Ukraine) was No. 1 in steals (4) and tied for second in runs (6).
  • Felix Hill (Sweden) led in walks, drawing a free pass in a whopping 10 of 20 plate appearances.
  • Zach Titas (Lithuania) led his team with a .375/.444/.750 triple slash and stole the team’s only base.

Pitching Leaders
Minimum four innings.

  • In one of the easiest decisions of any European national team baseball tournament this summer, Jona Widmann (Germany)—who inked a contract with the Houston Astros a few months ago—was named “Best Pitcher” of the Germany Qualifier. The left-hander topped the charts in all Triple Crown categories: wins (2), strikeouts (13), and ERA (0.00). He was a narrow second in WHIP (0.42) and third in batting average against, as hitters struggled to a .045/.125/.040 line across 7.2 innings (the highest total of scoreless innings).
  • Sam T’siobbel [also written ‘Tsiobbel’](Belgium) permitted a single unearned run six innings over two games, whiffing eight, posting a 0.67 ERA and a .100/.217/.150 batting line.
  • Linus Ritzen (Sweden) had a 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP, and opponents hit .067/.125/.067 in his two starts (five innings).
  • Fred Rasmussen (Denmark) earned his team’s first win at the Under-23 level and registered a 2.70 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and eight strikeouts over 10 innings.
  • Braydon Titas (Lithuania) had a 1.29 ERA and matching WHIP in seven innings in his only appearance on the mound.
  • Szymon Dwojakowski (Poland) did not allow a hit or run over four innings in his one start.
  • Yevhenii Rozhko (Ukraine) piled up eight strikeouts against just two hits and a run in his five innings. Batters mustered a .118/.250/.176 mark against him.
  • Gustav Öijen (Sweden) similarly did not surrender a safety, in his case in five innings over two relief appearances. Although he allowed only one earned run, he did, however, walk 11.
