The Czech Republic and the Netherlands have reached the semi-final at the U15 European Championship as the first two teams. The Dutch team shut out Russia 17-0 in four innings in the morning game at Wiener Neustadt on Thursday, while the Czech prevailed 15-1 over host Austria. Both improved to 3-0 and will meet on Friday to determine the number-one seed from Pool A. Austria will play in the game for fifth place after concluding the first round with a 2-2 record.
In Pool B four teams (Italy, Germany, Spain, France) are now tied with 2-1 records after Spain beat Germany 8-3 and France downed Lithuania 24-0 on Thursday. Germany faces Italy, while Spain and France will square up on Friday. The winners will reach the semi-final on Saturday. The loser could end up in a fight against relegation.
