Day three at the U15 European Championship in Wiener Neustadt, Austria featured four first-round games. In the morning Germany edged out France 11-7 to improve to 2-0 and into first place in Group B. Yannic Walther and Nik Bendlin combined for six RBI. In the second Group-B matchup on Wednesday Italy blew by Lithuania 22-0. Daniele Di Monte went 4-for-4 with a home run and seven RBI. Lithuania didn’t manage a hit in four innings.
In Group A the Czech Republic prevailed 10-9 over Russia at the daily game in Rohrbach. It was a back and forth battle with the Czech team scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal up their second win. Jan Konrad had the game-winning RBI on a sac fly and pitched the last 1 1/3 innings to pick up the win. In the evening Austria downed Poland 16-8. Austria put ten runs on the board in the first en route to an easy win.
