U15 European Championship 2019 in Nettuno: Results July 17, 2019

The U15 European Championship 2019 in Nettuno, Italy continued on Wednesday with four games of the preliminary round. In the morning the Netherlands blew by Austria 21-0, while the Czech Republic defeated Slovakia 16-0. The Netherlands and Czech Republic will meet on Thursday to determine first place in the standings of Group B. Both teams are already set for the semifinals at 2-0 each.

In Group A Germany improved to 2-0 with an 8-6 win over Italy. Germany took a quick 7-0 lead after two innings and led 8-2 entering the seventh and last inning. Italy rallied for four runs, but wasn’t able to complete the comeback. Paul Schmitz had 12 strikeouts in six strong one-hit innings, while also driving in three with a bases clearing double in the first. In the second Group A matchup France prevailed 11-9 over Russia in an extra-inning thriller.
