The Zottegem, Belgium qualification tournament for the Under-15 European Baseball Championship continued today with three rollercoaster games. The day started with a Group B game between Sweden and Israel, with the Scandinavians holding a 3-1 margin into the bottom of the fifth. Israel responded with five runs in the bottom of the fifth, repeating the feat an inning later to ice the win.
In Group A, Lithuania plated six runs in the first against Estonia, but three separate rallies gave the pesapall-players a lead in the middle of the fifth. Both squads then scored four apiece in their next inning, with Lithuania tying the game at 11 after six. The southern Baltic nation then won on walk-off, claiming its first win in the process. The nightcap was plenty exciting as well, as Belgium jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third, which Poland immediately answered with two runs. From there, the hosts piled on the runs, containing a late Polish comeback.
