The Tuebingen Hawks won the southern division of the 2nd Baseball-Bundesliga with a 21-7 record. As we experienced in the last couple of years and we’ll most likely also see in the northern division this doesn’t mean automatically that they also move up. But the desire of the Hawks is to play in the German Baseball-Bundesliga in 2012. They are currently in talks with the German Baseball and Softball Federation to fulfill the license requirements to play in German Baseball’s head class. Especially the ballpark issue has to be solved as the field doesn’t meet the usual standards. The Hawks last played in the German Baseball-Bundesliga in 2007. With Tuebingen the southern division would be back at eight teams. They already talk to Deontante Hann (playing for the Hawks since a couple of seasons) and Marcel Hering (currently Stuttgart Reds) to build a solid roster for 2013.
