The Triple Ball Balkan Championship wrapped up this past weekend. Hosts Bulgaria came out on top with 2 of 3 trophies, finishing in first place during the baseball and coed slowpitch competitions. The Greek national softball team clinched the title in the women’s event.

Baseball:
Final: Romania – Bulgaria 2:3
1. Bulgaria
2. Romania
3. Slovenia
Serbia
5. Greece

Softball:
Final: Greece – Bulgaria 4:3
1. Greece
2. Bulgaria
3. Serbia
4. Slovenia

Coed Slowpitch:

3. Slovenia
4. Greece
5. Romania

The great sporting celebration was filled with tight and competitive games, great plays, and a lot of interest from the local fans. Hopefully the participating players have had the perfect chance to use the Balkan Championships as part of their preparations for the long club/ national season ahead, and let’s hope this tournament will be able to attract the baseball and softball families in Southeast Europe on future occasions too.
