Tranås, Sundbyberg win on Wednesday in Swedish Elitserien

Posted on June 4, 2009June 4, 2009 by philipp

With help from Thommy Brolin

On Wednesday the Swedish Elitserien had scheduled two interesting games to kick off. TRANAS defend their undefeated record and first place with a lopsided 12-1 win in seven innings over the KARLSKOGA BATS. STOCKHOLM lost 3-14 against SUNDBYBERG HEAT.

SUNDBYBERG started in a very inspired manner and hit STOCKHOLM starting pitching hard. They were 4-0 ahead after the first inning, and 9-0 after two, and the game was more or less over. Very efficient pitching from Carl Sjölin, combined with hot bats from primarily Joaquin Pedroso (2-2, 3 BB, 4 runs), Philip Gajzler (2-2, 3 runs) and Robert Porsklint (3-5, 4 RBI) paved the way for the SUNDBYBERG victory. STOCKHOLM never got into the game, with their pitching below what is expected from the reigning champions, and an offense that never threatened SUNDBYBERG pitching.

On Sunday SUNDBYBERG is hosting KARLSKOGA for two games, while TRANAS is playing against STOCKHOLM a day earlier. RAETTVIK, which expects Adam Sorgi back, hopes for their first wins of the season in GEFLE. LEKSAND is taking on GOTEBORG.
