Tranås, Stockholm play for Swedish Title

Posted on August 28, 2009 by philipp

After TRANAS and STOCKHOLM prevailed in the semi-finals last weekend against LEKSAND and KARLSKOGA, the two teams, which also were one and two after the regular season, will play out the championship in the Swedish Elitserien. TRANAS will have home field advantage in the best-of-three series. The first two games will be played on Saturday afternoon, while a possible third match would go follow on Sunday.

STOCKHOLM used Joakim and Jakob Claesson as starting pitchers last weekend, although Jakob only lasted four-plus innings in game two after walking nine batters. So there might be a change possible. TRANAS is expected to turn to Cameron Penney and Eimantes Zickus on the mound. Both hurlers dominated with Zickus going a whopping 14 innings last weekend.

Schedule Swedish Finals:
Saturday, August 29:
12:00 Tranås – Stockholm
15:30 Tranås – Stockholm
Sunday, August 30:
12:00 Tranås – Stockholm*
