Tranås crushes Karlskoga Bats in Swedish Baseball

Posted on June 9, 2010 by philipp

On Tuesday evening Tranås traveled to Karlskoga in the Swedish Elitserien and returned home with a lopsided 15-1 win in eight innings over the Bats. The guests put runs on the board in the seven of the eight innings and improved to 6-4 for the 2010 season. Matt Merrifield hit a solo homerun. Adeyinka Adewusi, Josh Clemmons and David Leander scored three runs each.

The second scheduled match on Tuesday between defending champion Stockholm and Sundbyberg Heat was postponed due to bad light after six innings with Stockholm leading 5-3. The game will be completed on a different date.

The Elitserien continues on Saturday with a regular game day of four doubleheaders. Two more weeks are left in the first phase of the regular season before the first six teams qualify for the second phase.
