The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg introduced their new manager Tomas Bison this week at a press conference. The 44-year-old, who played for Ronchi dei Legionari, Verona and Godo in Italy during his active career, had been working as instructor for Major League Baseball in Europe. He will take over at the helm in Regensburg on January 1, 2019.
Bison is succeeding Jack Lind as manager, who had taken over for Kai Gronauer during the playoffs this past summer. Gronauer reportedly will remain with the club, coaching the cadets team. Additionally the Buchbinder Legionaere announced that Irish-American left-handed pitcher Bill Greenfield has extended his contract through the 2019 season. This past season was his first in Germany.
