Posted on March 15, 2011March 15, 2011 by philipp

The 21-year-old catcher Timor Kombarov has signed with the Bonn Capitals. Born in Kazakhstan he has lived in Sweden in the past years, playing for the Alby Stars in the Swedish Elitserien. He also has spent time in the US and Japan according to the press release. He is expected to arrive in Germany at the end of March and is supposed to provide depth behind the plate besides the returning Jon Marshall.

Kombarov is already the seventh new player who is coming to the northern division club from the Baseball-Bundesliga. They already have added Florian Nehring, Philipp Spade, Michael Kratz, Moritz Sckaer and Nick Shay. Additionally Martin Amparo has received a German passport and has recovered from his fractured arm to rejoin the Capitals.

Bonn will conclude the preseason with games against Eindhoven, Haarlem and the Mainz Athletics. They are going to open the 2011 season with two road games against the Paderborn Untouchables on April 3.
