Brooks Hoping to Sign Pro Contract for 2011 Season
Who: Tiffany Brooks, women’s baseball pro-hopeful for 2011. Right-Handed Pitcher (RHP) and 1B.
- First and only female member of the Hollywood Legends Barnstorming Baseball Club
- First American female to sign a men’s pro baseball contract since 2003 and make the team’s opening day roster
- Two-time silver medalist in women’s international baseball (Phoenix Cup, Hong Kong, China)
- One of only two women to ever compete in the Arizona Winter League (independent pro developmental/instructional league).
What: Brooks will join 95 male players on four teams in the CWL. The CWL is in its second year of operations and has successfully signed over 50% of its participants to professional contracts. Numerous scouts and managers will be present from MLB, the Frontier League, the American Association, and the newly-formed Pecos League.
Where: Brooks lives in Spokane, Washington but will compete in Palm Springs, CA, home of the California Winter League.
When: Brooks will arrive in Palm Springs January 15 and report to camp on January 18. She will compete until completion of the league on February 19.
