Two players of the Italian National Team are making quite an impression in the Minor Leagues. Tiago Da Silva, who got signed by the Toronto Blue Jays this winter, got promoted to Double-A. The 30-year-old Brazilian with Italian passport had an ERA of 3.52 in eight games with 21 strikeouts and three walks in 15.1 Single-A innings before getting the call for New Hampshire. He already got into two games at the new level, allowing two runs on three hits in three innings.
Another Italian national teamer is also in the Blue Jays organization. 31-year-old Chris Colabello, who played in the MLB for the Minnesota Twins in 2013 and 2014, is on the Triple-A team of the Blue Jays this year. He was named player of the week in the International League in late April and is batting .337/.421/.554 with five home runs, 14 runs and 18 RBI in 23 games this season.
