After days of confusion and chaos, the first Latin American and Caribbean League of Baseball is underway. Venezuela won the opening match on Wednesday 6-1 against Columbia. Cuba followed with a 9-0 shutout versus Columbia on Thursday, which was called after six innings because of a rain delay and electrical problems in the ballpark in Caracas. On Friday Cuba and Venezuela met for the most anticipated match of the tournament. The Cuban team won 10-4. Both teams are competing in the upcoming World Cup in group B with the Netherlands, Germany, Korea, Thailand, Australia and Canada. According to baseballdecuba.com, the series will resume play on Saturday with a match up between Columbia and host Venezuela.
