The 2010 season in the Italian Baseball League starts on April 1st with defending champion Fortitudo Bologna taking on the Godo Knights (formerly known as De Angelis Godo). Danesi Nettuno will face the promoted Catania Warriors Paternò, Montepaschi Grosseto hosts Telemarket Rimini and Parma will clash with T&A San Marino.
The Italian Baseball and Softball Federation released a schedule on Monday, which has to be seen as tentative since the teams get the opportunity to submit changes over the next two weeks. It is planned that games will be held Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays with first pitch times between 8.30pm and 9pm CET.
The regular season will be interrupted for the European Cup events in Rotterdam, Netherlands and Brno, Czech Republic in June. The preliminary phase ends on July 10th. The playoffs are scheduled to start at the beginning of August after the European Championships in Germany.
