The German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV) has released the tentative schedules for the 2017 season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga and the German Softball-Bundesliga. The German Baseball-Bundesliga once again will be played with 15 teams. However two new teams have returned to the first division in German baseball. The Dohren Wild Farmers replace the Hannover Regents in the north, while the Saarlouis Hornets take the spot of the Tubingen Hawks in the south. The first game day will be April 1/2.
In the Softball-Bundesliga the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg and the Augsburg Dirty Slugs promote to the top division, while the eight teams from 2016 all return. The league is now split into two groups of four in the north and six in the south. The southern division starts into the 2017 season on April 2, while the north follows on April 22.
