On Thursday May 1st, the first postponed games were play. TECHNIKA BRNO hosted KRC ALTRON in their home field Kravi Hora. In both games the batters from TECHNIKA dominated and the prognosis for season 2008, that they want to get a spot in autumns playoffs, wasn’t illusive. TECHNIKA swept the doubleheader 6-2 and 9-4.

The regular third Extraleague weekend started on Saturday in Blansko between home BLACK HILL, which is still waiting for a first win in the season and TECHNIKA. TECHNIKA also swept BLACK HILL 8-3, when Dobyns pitched a complete game for BRNO and BLACK HILL started with Konvalinka and closed the game with Navratil on the mound.

TEGOLA TITANS who got their first two wins a week ago played against the strong squad of ARROWS OSTRAVA. Although this doubleheader should end with two easy victories, reality was different. The TITANS fought for another win and in the first game, they led 1-0 in the seventh inning, but then the ARROWS scored twice and closers Robles and Bokaj didn’t allow another run. ARROWS started with Jurdzin on the mound and Blazek credited his first complete in TITANS uniform. The home team also received a complete game in the second game from pitcher Kus and the ARROWS had again a good rotation with starter Vasicek and left-handed closer Gal. ARROWS won 6-2 against the TITANS and settled in second position in the Extraleague standings.

The last doubleheader on Saturday was between SKOKANI OLOMOUC and AVG DRACI BRNO. It finished better for the champions from Brno, when they swept SKOKANI 2-0 and 9-4. Unfortunately there is no additional information about the twin bill.

On Sunday another game between TECHNIKA BRNO and BLACK HILL BLANSKO was scheduled with TECHNIKA winning 17-7. The outcome was open in the middle of the match with the score tied at 7-7. BLACK HILL starter Kocman was replaced by relief pitchers Navratil and Nemec, but both didn’t stop the batter’s machinery from TECHNIKA BRNO. TECHNIKA started with Navrkal on the mound and Stribrcky closed the game. Overall TECHNIKA got four victories during four days and climbed up into third position of the Extraleague standings after the third game day. BLACK HILL is still waiting for their first win in 2008.

The last doubleheader was played in Brno as well, with MZLU EXPRESS hosting KRC ALTRON. It was the only series with a split. The first game was won by KRC ALTRON 4-2. Winning pitcher was Jonak and Audes from EXPRESS took the loss in the first game on the mound. EXPRESS decided the second match by a score of 5-1.
