Technika Brno replaces Arrows Ostrava in EC Qualifier

Posted on March 11, 2010 by philipp

Technika Brno is replacing Arrows Ostrava at the European Cup Qualifier in Antwerp, Belgium from June 14 to 19. The report on the Technika website states that Ostrava withdrew its participation. They are going to face BK Vojvode (SRB), Stockholm BSK (SWE), AS Spartakos Glyfadas (GRE), Port of Antwerp Greys (BEL) and Schwaz Tigers (SUI) in the Qualifier.

It is going to be the fifth European Cup tournament in team history. They won the 2001 CEB Cup in Metz, France. They ranked fourth and fifth at the 2004 and 2005 Cupwinners Cups in The Hague, Netherlands and Antwerp. At the 2007 CEB Cup in Karlovac, Croatia they finished in sixth place.

In 2009 Technika was ranked second in the Czech Extraleague after the regular season with a 25-10 record, but lost in the semi-finals against Arrows Ostrava. Extraleague champion AVG Draci Brno will host one of the two European Cups at the beginning of June.
