Three teams will represent Sweden in next year’s European Cup tournaments. Swedish champion Stockholm has signed up for the Baseball European Cup Qualifier and will play either in Solingen, Antwerp, Brest or Karlovac, though the first two options are the most logical geographic-wise.
Skövde and Söder will play in the Softball European Cups. Swedish champion Skövde is going to play the A-Pool in Haarlem, Netherlands. Söder is set for the B-Pool Cupwinners Cup, where the site isn’t determined yet. Söder, which finished second in Sweden this year, even could host this tournament according to the report on the official website of the Swedish Baseball and Softball Federation.
The board of the Swedish federation also decided to pay for the travel costs for the European Cup participating teams, starting in 2010.
