Teams of Vienna with perfect start into Austrian Baseball League season

Posted on April 13, 2008 by philipp

The two clubs of Vienna, the METROSTARS and the SUPERFUND WANDERERS swept their doubleheaders against the LINZ BANDITS and the DORNBIRN INDIANS. The UNION KUFTSTEIN VIKINGS also won both of their games against the STOCK CITY CUBS.

Despite the debut of Casey Brigham in game two, the BANDITS had no chance against last year’s champion. The METS won 9-3 in part one of the twin bill followed by 16-0 pounding in the second match.

The WANDERERS did the same with the INDIANS. However after a lopsided 16-3 in game one, DORBIRN made it close in the second, losing just by a score of 2-5. The reason was a solid debut for the Australian Luke Suters.

The VIKINGS scored 30 runs in two offensive games against the CUBS, but also gave up 15 runs.
