The US Team received their first win in the second game of the Arizona Fall League. They defeated Phoenix 3-2. The Dodgers prospects Andy LA ROCHE and Delwyn YOUNG delivered the decisive hits. YOUNG had three singles and scored the winning run in the eighth on a RBI-double by LA ROCHE. It was the only extra-base-hit for them in the game. LA ROCHE had missed the first game due a reaction to a flu shot.
Jeff KARSTENS (Yankees), Brian DUENSING (Twins) and Josh OUTMAN (Phillies) pitched two innings apiece. KARSTENS started and allowed only two hits. DUENSING and OUTMAN gave up two hits and one earned run each. All three are considered as candidates for the starting rotation at the upcoming World Cup of Baseball.
After another off-day today, they are playing four games in a row, before their trip to Taipei.
