In front of a sell-out crowd of 11,000 at Tainan City Stadium Team USA defeated Chinese Taipei 7-2 in the Gold Medal Game to defend its title from 2013. A five-run third inning decided the outcome, as the United States overcame an early 0-2 deficit. David Diaz highlighted the rally with a two-run home run. Jack Ryan also went deep for the US. Both combined for five RBI in the final. Nicholas Kurtz issued four hits, two runs (1 ER) and four walks in five innings for the win. Hao-Yu Lee got charged with the loss.
Nicaragua stunned Cuba with a 2-0 shutout in the Bronze Medal Game. Venezuela and Japan rounded up the top six. The two European participants France and Russia ended up in 11th and 12th from 12 teams in the tournament. It was the first of at least three U12 Baseball World Cups, which will be held in Tainan City. The first two editions had been hosted by Taipei City. The final games were live streamed worldwide with 150,000 watching the Gold Medal Game online.
