Swiss Softball Finals – Semifinals Preview

Pitcher Cassidy Maine - Bern CardinalsSwiss Softball is going into the final weeks of the season. This week there will be the half-finals, next the finals. The Therwil Flyers and the Bern Cardinals finished in first and second place in the final round. They will now face the Wil Devils and Zurich Challengers to get to the finals.

The Challengers won the title last year, the Flyers 2005. Both teams also finished first and second in the preliminary round. Therwil won 22 of their 26 games and are the heavy favourite going into the final stages of the season. The Cardinals jumped one place in the second round, which was played to determine the playoff seeds. They have now home field advantage in the half-finales against Zurich. The Devils lost the last six games in a row and won only two of the last twelve to finish fourth.
