In the Swiss Nationalliga A the quarterfinals were played last weekend. The Bern Cardinals and the Zurich Challengers each swept their best-of-three series to join the Therwil Flyers and Zurich Barracudas in the semi-finals.
Bern downed their former coach John Baum and the Sissach Frogs 7-4 and 9-8. The second game was decided in the 11th frame. Also two extra innings were played in a 5-4 game-one victory of the Challengers against the Lucerne Eagles. In game two Zurich again prevailed by a single run, winning 3-2.
