Stockholm and the Karlskoga Bats will meet in the Swedish Elitserien Finals. Both completed sweeps in their best-of-five semi-final series. Stockholm downed Sundbyberg 3-2 in ten innings. After Johan Tisell and Jakob Claesson were locked into a pitcher’s duel for the first eight innings, both teams scored once in the ninth. Stockholm then won it in walk-off style in the bottom of the tenth. Magnus Pilegard and Oscar Holmberg had two hits apiece. Claesson went all ten innings for the win. Carl Sjölin got charged with the loss in relief. Stockholm had won 17-0 and 13-0 in games one and two.
The Karlskoga Bats and the Leksand Lumberjacks split the first two games last weekend. However during the week the Bats protested Leksand’s use of an ineligible player and were awarded a 9-0 victory in game two. On Saturday they closed out the sweep with an 11-7 win in Leksand to return to the championship series, which they had won in 2012.
