The Swedish Elitserien is about to start the 2019 season this coming weekend with a matchup between the Sölvesborg Firehawks and the Swedish Academy. The Sundbyberg Heat, Rättvik Butchers, Leksand Lumberjacks, Karlskoga Bats, Sundsvall Mosquitoes and Stockholm Monarchs will follow in the coming weekends.
The regular season will be played through August 18. At the end of June, beginning of July there will be a three-week break. The playoffs will be short due to the European Championship in September, as the semi-finals and finals will take place in a best-of-three format at the end of August.
