Stuttgart Reds, Head Coach Troy Williams part ways / Becomes NY Yankees Scout

The Stuttgart Reds and head coach Troy Williams have parted ways shortly before the start of the new season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. Williams informed the club this week that he has signed as European scout with the New York Yankees organization and therefore won’t be available anymore in the same capacity as before. Additionally he wouldn’t have been in Stuttgart for their opener against the Haar Disciples due to the new assignment. However he wanted to stay with the Reds. But the front office decided after talks with member of the team to go in a different direction. Gavin Ng, who was an assistant coach on the staff, will talk over as player coach. He has been in Stuttgart since four seasons.
