Tomorrow and Sunday the 5th edition of the baseball tournament with Reds from Germany, together with Italian Senago Milano United, Old Rags Lodi and Ares Milano
Milan is ready to host the 5th edition of “Gigi Cameroni Trophy”, a classic tournament held before the opening of the Italian baseball season dedicated to the memory of a man who for 50 years has been the flag of Milan baseball (he played 340 games in 23 championship and also won 8 national titles as manager of Milan with 3 Champions Cup). Two days of great baseball with the traditional formula of 4 teams against in two semifinals: Milan Senago United, Ares Milano, Old Rags Lodi and a German team, the Stuttgart Reds. It’s the second time a German team took part in the “Cameroni Trophy”, after last year’s participation of Neuenburg. The games will start tomorrow in Lodi (at 1 pm) with Old Rags vs Stuttgart and in Senago (3 pm) between with Milan Senago United vs Ares. On Sunday, the two finals in Senago, at 10:30 am and 3 pm for first place.
United will try to preserve the trophy won in the last two editions and will show against Ares in a Milan classic match that baseball fans miss since July 21, 2007, when Milan and Ares tie the game for returning to B series. The last game between Senago and Ares goes back to the following year when Senago took two games at the Saini field on July 27. Ares had also attended the inaugural “Cameroni trophy” in 2007 and on that occasion he faced Milan in the final for third place and won 10-5. Juve won in 2008, Novara and Milano Senago United in 2009 and 2010.
