The Italian Baseball League club DE ANGELIS GODO announced last week the addition of a new sponsor and two decisions regarding the roster for the 2009 season. The company Bambini S.r.l., which is located in Marina di Ravenna, is going to support the club as one of the main sponsors.
They also confirmed that catcher Danilo Sanchez (picture) will remain with the team in the upcoming season. The 28-year-old batted .260 (OBP .374/SLG .488) with six homeruns, 14 runs scored and 29 RBI in 36 games for the seventh-ranked GODO. He threw out six of 30 potential base stealers.
New to the club is utility player Daniele Malengo. The 20-year-old is coming from ITALMET MARINA DI RAVENNA on a loan contract. He hit .361 (OBP .439/SLG .451) with eight extra base hits, 21 runs scored and 22 RBI in 33 games in the Serie A2 (2nd division in Italian Baseball) last year.
