Spanish Division de Honor kicks off 2011 Season

Posted on February 25, 2011February 25, 2011 by philipp

Five matchups are going to kick off the 2011 season in the Spanish Division de Honor this weekend. Defending champion CB Sant Boi, which ended the Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz dynasty last summer, is starting on the road against the promoted Sevilla Red Sox. The club from the south is replacing the relegated El Llano as the lone new team in the league.

As every year it is difficult to determine a main favorite to win it all. However the usual suspects plus perhaps te Astros Valencia again will be at the top, hopefully after a dramatic race at the end. No playoffs after the regular season again mean that every win is important and the matchups between the top teams are going to decide most likely the championship.

In week one the Astros Valencia will take on the FC Barcelona in the top duel of the first weekend. In the other three matchups Baseball Navarra hosts Halcones de Vigo, CB Viladecans takes on the Tenerife Marlins and CD Pamplona plays against San Inazio Bilbao. You can follow this doubleheader via live play by play on the official competition website of the Division de Honor.
